Light drawing (often called light painting) is a long exposure night photography technique where the light source is visible by the camera, and it creates the objects you see. The person doing this disappears when dressed in black. Any tool that lights up can be used, be that a $1 light stick or a $300 specialized tool. I distinguish this from >>light painting, where the light tool itself is not visible. Light drawing is perhaps the only photography discipline where we do not just photograph what is already there, but rather create the main object in the photo. Every single frame is unique, because you can never exactly replicate what you just did.
